Don't Panic: Too Many Chili Dogs

I'm back! I'm back in saddle again!🎶 Good luck getting that unstuck from your mind...

Yeah, so 2016 was... dismal. Just a complete write off of a year, really, in all respects, but especially for And Then She Games. But I seem to be getting back into the swing of things here, just in time for... get this... my FOURTH anniversary! May 2017 makes four years of me editing the overuse of the word 'fuck' out of my articles so people might actually read them! Fuck! Yay! Anyway, after last year's failure to launch, so to speak, I thought I'd do another anniversary celebration for those of you who've stuck with me through thick and thin.

A quick glance at my collection proves that this past year (or two) has definitely been the year of Playstation. I've basically added nothing to my collection since paring down a while back (remember my midlife crisis?) except PS4 games, so that will be the theme of this year's giveaway! Apologies to Xbone and 'Tendo fans, but c'mon. You need these games.
As always, I'll be conducting the giveaway from twitter... it hasn't let me down yet, and if it ain't broke, don't fix it! If you haven't found me there yet, you're looking for @nintenlo. (Ironic, I know.) I will host each prize as a separate raffle, so you won't win something you're not interested in. You can enter for both if you like, but you can only win one!

First up, a game that took the industry by storm after its predecessor became naught but a cult classic: Nier: Automata. Everyone I know (including people that have never played Nier) has been raving about this game since its announcement, and the general consensus seems to be that it's a solid game. I still haven't played the original Nier yet, but I've got it on good authority that both games are up my alley, with the sequel being made Platinum, and they make fun games! I did check out the demo a while back, and while I was slightly lost, it was solid in the visual, audio and controls departments!
So while picking up a copy for my own collection, I picked up an extra for one of you. If Automata ends up being anything like its parent, it's going to become very difficult and/or expensive to find someday, so this is your chance to secure your new, physical copy!
Nier: Automata was released February 2017 for PS4 and Microsoft!

Secondly, I'm going to toss out a copy of what's probably the most impressive release of this year so far. I was blown away by Horizon: Zero Dawn when it was announced at E3, and despite the fact that I haven't had a chance to play it yet, I'm still totally sold on it. It's getting great reviews and even the guy at Gamestop admitted he thinks this is the only current title actually worth its release price. It's gorgeous, and seems to have a really unique play style. In a world saturated by sequels and remasters, we desperately need some new I.P.s, and Guerrilla has heard our cries!
Horizon: Zero Dawn is described as an open world, action role playing game and was released February 2017 exclusively for PS4! If you haven't already gotten lost in this distinctive world, this is your shot at a shiny new, physical copy!

Since May is the month of celebration here, I'll continue to take entries for the giveaways until Wednesday, May 31st 2017 @ 9:00 p.m. Eastern Time. Entries will be tossed into my trusty hat and winners will be pulled and announced that night! Winners will have 48 hours to claim their prize before a runner-up is drawn in their place.

So. The particulars:
Step One: read THE RULES.
IF YOU PARTICIPATE IN THIS GIVEAWAY, IT WILL BE ASSUMED THAT YOU HAVE READ AND AGREED TO THE RULES.
Step Two: follow me on twitter! Have a scroll through my recent media tweets, or scroll back to the day this article published. Find the relevant tweet card for the game you want, and note the unique entry requirement found there. Leave me a single tweet in response, and you're in! That's it! You don't have to like or retweet if you don't want to, but I do appreciate you passing on the word to anyone you know that might like me. Please like me.
Step Three: continue to be awesome. Stay tuned for the winners on May 31st and good luck!

And there you have it. Oscar acceptance speech incoming. Alright, fine, I'll try to keep it short this time. But really, the words to describe how grateful I am for all of you simply do not exist. I have no idea what makes me so damn special, but y'all continue to chat with me and support me, and it really means the world to me.
Thank you to my family, the Cartridge Club, for your never-ending shout outs and retweets. Thanks to all that have me bookmarked and read my stuff when they're supposed to be working at 9:30 in the morning. Thank you Russian porn sites that seem to redirect me a lot of traffic for some reason. And a very special thank you to the guy who found my site by googling 'Seymour's stupid hair'. You continue to be the greatest highlight of my writing career.

Here's to another year of neglecting my responsibilities to play video games! Cheers!🍻
